Rehabilitative & Functional Training

 With RAFT you will be taught how to use breath to correctly activate and strengthen your core, through applied and functional movement.

 RAFT is generally suitable for all levels of fitness.

Spring 2026 Classes!

There are two types of classes to choose from.

Core strength and conditioning. Monday 0930 & Wedensday 0830

This class is perfect for anyone who has had spinal issues, or wishing to strengthen their core. You will come away knowing how to properly activate your core muscles using your breath. Each class is different but always involves plenty of gluteal and leg work, (vital for good core function!) , upper body strength and abdominal work alongside the core specific work.    

Core and strength PLUS Thursday 0930

This class focuses on whole body strength, through weighted movement. With emphasis on correct core activation, this will translate into your daily life to help prevent injury. Participants bring their own weights so you can choose how heavy you would like to go. This class is a little more challenging with the use of free weights, but can be adapted accordingly. 

 

My background in physiotherapy forms the foundation of what is taught, so please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the suitability for you. Lastly, I really believe that exercising should be fun, whatever your age or ability. Everyone is welcome!! My classes are designed to challenge you, but there are always alternative options and plenty of laughs along the way! Come along and find out for yourself.

Learn to Inhale! Video 1.

What is our core and how do we use our breath to engage it? Learn to inhale and prepare yourself for ‘core breathing’. 

Learn to exhale and engage your pelvic floor and core. Video 2.

Core engagement / Core breathing continued……….

Once you have mastered the art of the inhale and letting your belly and pelvic floor expand, it is time to look at the exhale. It will take some practice to get used to the technique so don’t despair if it doesn’t make sense the first time.
